Back then, television was black and white. Now, the screens are colorful – but why does the world sometimes feel monochrome?
There is something strange about the way we remember the past.
Television used to be black and white. Yet somehow, the world we remember from those old photographs feels incredibly colorful.
And then, somewhere along the way, our screens became more colorful while the world around us became increasingly… beige, white, grey, black.
Maybe it is just nostalgia.
Or maybe we really did lose a little bit of color along the way.
We have better technology, better materials and more choices than ever before. Minimalism can be beautiful. Neutral spaces can feel peaceful. Clean design can make life easier.
I don’t think the past was better. And I don’t want to bring it back.
But sometimes, I wonder if somewhere along the way, we became a little too afraid of showing our true color…?
That thought stayed with me when I started Luna.
I could have built the brand around a character. A cute mascot. A fictional world. One recognizable figure that appears on every notebook, sticker and piece of stationery.
But I didn’t want Luna to belong to just one character.
Because color can tell so many different stories.
So instead of choosing one character to represent Luna, I chose color itself.
For the little moments
Because stationery is made for small things that become part of our everyday memories:
- A notebook sitting on your desk.
- A piece of paper tucked inside a book.
- A sticker on your laptop.
- A card kept in a drawer, or a page nobody else will ever read.
Keeping the feeling alive
I don’t want to recreate the past, I simply want to keep a little of this feeling alive:
- That ordinary things are allowed to be colorful.
- That a notebook or paper doesn’t have to be plain and boring.
- That your desk doesn’t have to look like a showroom.
- That something small can make an ordinary Tuesday feel nicer.
And I want Luna SG to be part of those moments in a way that feels personal – not perfectly coordinated, not overly serious, and not designed to look exactly like everything else.
Just a little more colorful. A little more playful. A little more you.
Because our screens already have more colors than we could ever count.
Maybe it’s time to put some of that color back into real life.
Not a character. Not a single aesthetic.
Just a little more color for your everyday moments.
